Three years ago today, Kevin and I started talking again. We had both been so busy with our college lives that we hadn't had a lot of time to speak to each other, but I saw how much he was hurting after Jim passed, and I couldn't stop calling to check on him. We talked about Jim a lot. It was so obvious how much Jim was loved.
In a strange way, it ... See Morewas Jim who brought us back together after a long hiatus of not speaking. I have him to thank for reconnecting me with the man who would be my future husband. It's funny the way things play out.
I regret never meeting Jim--especially when he means so much to my new, wonderful family--but I love hearing about him. I can't believe it's already been three years.
I love you! I'm praying for you guys today

Rolled out of bed this morning at 4:30. Ran 6.5 miles with the greatest running group ever. We then went to Starbucks for a quick coffee. Cried on the way home. Told God how much I miss Jim, how much I miss us, how much I hate that Emily doesn't have her Daddy, even though I know he is with him. Got home, made an English muffin with peanut ... See Morebutter and bananas, went up stairs for a quick snuggle with my girl. Then took my breakfast and spent time with God in Bible study. Went up stairs for a warm shower afterwards, thinking, it just doesn't get better than this. Then it hit me, I am so truely blessed. Jim was a wonderful man and I will see him again. Even with the deep gap in my heart that is always there, there is peace knowing that God is truely in control and I like that. And I will forever miss God's sweet Jim. Nikki, what a precious write up. Thank you.

I too cannot believe it's been 3 years... although I didn't know him, I remember how difficult that time was for you. Praying for you all including his wife and daughter.

Even though he is not here, there are reminders of him all around us. I have a hard time getting in and out of the driveway everyday. Miss you Jim ........
