LET ME OUT OF HERE!

No joke~ our cat LiLi has figured out how to open doors! She can turn the knobs on the bedroom/bathroom doors and open them but hasn't quite figured out the front and back door yet :)

A Sneak Peak :)

Back in April we went to Tulsa and picked up Chris's parents kitchen table. This is the table all the kids and many grand kids grew up with. We wanted a dining room table, but really wanted it to be special, to have a "story" behind it. We asked Ed if he would like to give up his table for Chris to refinish and keep within the family. He and Lois both seemed happy about it, so we drove it home and Chris has been working on it on and off since then.
Here is a "sneak peak", he is getting close to being finished! Ed, we can't wait for you to see it!

Chris has built/refinished many pieces of our furniture and this is definitely one of his best!! We chose golden pecan for the tops and ebony on the bottom. The natural wood grain on the bench and table tops is beautiful!

The bench seats are finished and he is working on the table top now.

It's Kevins 22nd Birthday!!!!!

Our friend Katie was our server and did a great job helping us celebrate ( embarrass) Kevin and Grandpa :)

We all really enjoyed the food and atmosphere at La Hacienda and plan to have the Rehearsal Dinner here in June for Kevin & Nikki's wedding.

The birthday Boys~ when Kevin was little he and my Dad would often celebrate their birthdays together. My dad was a good sport celebrating at Chucky Cheese with a ton of little kids :) Happy Birthday Dad!

Kevin, you have grown up to be such a wonderful man and I know you will be just as wonderful a husband and father ( later :). We are so proud of you and love you very much!!!!

Randy & Vannesa!

Last weekend two of Tim's friends, Randy & Vanessa, were married! The wedding was beautiful with all the Christmas decorations still up. The reception was at an Italian restaurant in Dallas, Maggianos Little Italy. The food was fantastic and the reception was a lot of fun! All the "kids" (young & young at heart) had a ball, dancing, dancing, dancing!

Vanessa & Randy are two of Tim's friends that we would have over with the whole gang for dinner, bbq's and celebrations while they were all in college. They are an outstanding group of young people that we are so very proud of! They are our next generation of doctors, engineers and business men and women. We are all lucky to have people like them coming into this workforce. Congratulations Tim, Luke, John, Daniel, Amanda, Randy& Vanessa !!!!

Tim was a groomsman again and looked so handsome in his tux :)

Christmas Day 2008

We had a great Christmas enjoying our family & friends as well as the traditions that have become very special as we celebrate this day together.
Christmas Eve was spent at church with Nikki's family for the Christmas Eve service followed by coffee and food at I Hop. The I Hop part is not one of our traditions but was a lot of fun anyways :)
Our family headed home and opened one present each and then watched our favorite Christmas movie "The Muppet's Christmas Carol" with hot apple cider.
I am ALWAYS the first one up ( it's just too exciting to sleep) and I wake the rest of them up by playing a particular song ( on repeat, getting louder and louder the longer they sleep) that talks about it being Christmas morning and saying "you've got to get up". They really hate that :)

Before we all go to bed, I set the bread maker so it will be finished baking early the next morning, when we have warm bread and coffee as we open presents. We are always so excited to see every one's face when they open their presents, it's the best part!
Then Chris and I get to work making our very spicy Christmas Day Chili that cooks for several hours.

Kevin got Matt some new frisbees this year so we spent a while outside throwing the frisbees.

Later in the day our friends Billy & Donise came over and brought desert. Nikki joined all of us later that night and we ended the day watching a movie and being so thankful for the gift of family & friends but mostly for the greatest gift of all that was given to us!
